VERTEX Helicopters is licensed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Aerial Wildlife and Exotic animal management. We can use our aerial expertise to be of assistance to Park Rangers, Ranchers, Farmers and Scientists in multiple ways to help them manage wildlife that inhabit and roam their lands or parks. This work includes but is not limited to game counts, capturing, tagging, surveying or recovering deer, cattle, horses, badgers, bears and wolves.
Wildlife capture with net gunning or darting enables rangers and scientists to:
- Fit collars to animals for radio tracking with Radio Telemetry
- Survey existing populations and tag and track new populations
- Immunize and treat disease
- Recover sick or injured animals for rehabilitation or research
Surveying of existing wildlife populations is essential in determining population density, sex ratios, fawn survival and age of wildlife distribution. This information can then be used to develop harvest recommendations and distribution and assess predator ranges and risk.

All pilots keep a daily flight log of operations recording times, locations, objectives, work carried out, authorizations of landowners and pilot and gunner license numbers for inspection at any time. This information is easily replicated for clients, ranchers and landowners for report analysis at the end of an established contract. |
